Millions of people use Noun Project every month. You earn royalties when your image is obtained through a single purchase, a Pro subscription, or an API subscription.
Someone makes a one-time purchase of your image:
You earn 60% royalties
When a Noun Project user buys your image through a one-time direct purchase, you earn 60% of the image’s purchase price minus expenses.
Someone downloads your image through a Pro Subscription:
You earn 50% royalties
When a Noun Project Pro subscriber downloads one or more images in a month, 50% of the subscription's monthly value minus expenses is added to the royalties pool. At the end of the month, we weigh downloads by type (icons = 1x, photos = 3x), then divide each subscriber's royalty pool by their weighted number of downloads. Then we tally up how many of the subscribers' weighted downloads were yours. We repeat this calculation for each subscriber and add up your earnings. This is your total monthly earnings from Pro subscriptions.
Someone uses your image through an API subscription:
You earn 50% royalties
When an API subscriber calls your image, 50% of the call's value minus expenses is added to your earnings. We repeat this calculation for each API subscriber and add up your earnings from each. This is your monthly earnings from API subscriptions.
